Accessibility on www.manchesterclimate.com

www.manchesterclimate.com makes UserWay's Web Accessibility Widget available, powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows  www.manchesterclimate.com to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

Enabling the Accessibility Menu

The www.manchesterclimate.com accessibility menu can be enabled by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears on the bottom right corner of the page. After triggering the accessibility menu, please wait a moment for the accessibility menu to load in its entirety.

This enables users to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Disclaimer

Manchester Climate Change Agency continues its efforts to improve the accessibility of its site and services. We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. Our website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below (note this is not an exhaustive list and we may identify further non-compliance as we continue to investigate and look to improve the accessibility and usability of our website).

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software,

  • some of our images may not have added Alt text or captions or be marked as decorative.

We are looking to resolve this as we continually try to improve our website. If you are struggling to access our older reports please don't hesitate to get in touch and we will gladly supply the source document or relevant information in a way that is accessible to you. Where we are publishing reports as PDFs going forward we are committed to ensuring that an accessible version is always available as standard.

In an ongoing effort to continually improve and remediate accessibility issues, we also regularly scan www.manchesterclimate.com with UserWay's Accessibility Scanner to identify and fix every possible accessibility barrier on our site. Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on www.manchesterclimate.com fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
